GIPO to host roundtable and workshop at EuroDig 2016

Tips for advanced searching

The European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) is an open multi-stakeholder platform to exchange views about the Internet and how it is governed, fostering dialogue and collaboration with the Internet community. EuroDig 2016 will take place from 9 to 10 June 2016 in Brussels, Belgium at the Brussels Meeting Centre.

This year's conference will benefit from a pre-event open workshop hosted by GIPO, focusing on stakeholder views and ideas regarding the future of GIPO's Observatory Tool launched this year.

This dynamic and participatory activity will start with a presentation from GIPO's Advisory Group to share the conclusions from the last roundtable on "GIPO contribution to multistakeholderism in Internet governance". Then, the Observatory Tool will be presented alongside real life examples of its use. Different opportunities for collaboration with other Observatories will also be discussed.

Participants will be invited to share their views and opinions in discussions about topics like improving GIPO's Observatory Tool, increasing synergies between GIPO and other Observatories, and the future of the GIPO initiative.

The workshop will be held on 8 June (14:30-17:30 CEST) at the EuroDIG 2016 premises in The Square, Brussels. To participate, please register to the general EuroDIG event.

Prior to the workshop, a roundtable of GIPO Advisory Group members will take place (8 June from 9.30 to 12.30 at European Commission premises). It will focus on the growth, reach and ownership of the Observatory by addressing three key questions:

• How can GIPO advance policy discussions in Internet Governance?

• How can GIPO increase its reach beyond the usual suspects and other observatory platforms?

• How can we create a shared ownership of the GIPO initiative within the IG community?

The overall aim of the roundtable is to achieve a greater understanding of how GIPO can be useful for its (potential) users around the world. It is open to the public and all are welcome to join, although registration by 5 June is necessary.

We look forward to seeing you on June 8!

Improvement of the Tool

The tool has been improved on a technical level and now provides API access to facilitate integration. It also features a graphic display with dashboard and new features will be showcased during the workshop.

Here you can see a sneak preview of the new dashboard.
